GROTTO BISTRO & CAVE ESTD. 2024
Grotto started as a simple and rough, temporary wine bar in a garage from 1920 in conjunction with MELK Gallery. Since then Grotto has been develeoped into a full blown bistro occupying the whole first floor of the workshopbuilding. The unique workshop building was bought by Alexander Kloster-Jensen and partner Marianne Wiig Storaas in 2021. It’s an 400 sq m. old workshop building and garages from the 1920’s. The space was used as an architect office (NAV Architects) from 1993 until 2021. We established MELK Gallery on the first floor, a contemporary gallery focusing on new Scandinavian photography. The second floor and loft is atelier and office space. In the summer of 2021 we established Grotto, a temporary garage wine bar with a very rustic feel reminiscent of wine cellars in Europe and opened as a french bistro in November 2023.
